More than a decade ago, our founder, Scott Jewler, an executive in the semiconductor assembly and test industry, wanted a more precise professional title to describe his work. No existing title existed, so he made his own, 'Interconnectologist.' In semiconductors, the word 'interconnect' describes electrical traces connecting transistors within an integrated circuit device and the connections between chips in a package or system. '-ologist' is simply someone who studies something.
But interconnectology is about more than circuits. The semiconductor industry thrives on relationships between people and businesses. The stakes are high when selecting a new supplier or partner. Mistakes can be very costly. Decision makers reduce risk by working with people and companies that they trust. Interconnectology is about a network of trusted partners who collaborate to get things done.
